I was the woman doing everything right. And then it stopped working.
For 23 years, I built my career the way I was taught to. Work hard. Be good at what you do. Be reliable. Deliver results. Be the person everyone can count on.
And it worked. Until it didn’t.
I worked harder. Took on more. Delivered more. And somehow, I watched other people get the promotions, the opportunities and the invitations into rooms I wasn’t in.
I couldn’t understand it.
So like a lot of high-performing women, I assumed the problem was me.
Then I got into the rooms where the real decisions were being made.
And suddenly, I could see what I had been missing.
